Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends (2 per 4-week schedule)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population including surgical, neuro, telemetry, and medical patients
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring timely recognition and response to cardiac changes
Administer medications and titrate drips as ordered (e.g., Diltiazem at set rate)
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using Cerner EMR system
Float to East Campus or PCU as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork

Qualifications

Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience reading basic telemetry strips and caring for surgical, neuro, and telemetry patients
At least one year of acute care nursing experience preferred
Cerner experience recommended due to limited orientation time

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring
Strong clinical skills for managing general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients
Ability to care for patients with CVA, TIA, respiratory issues, and GI conditions
Comfortable with equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
