Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med Surg and Emergency Department patients
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients with efficiency and compassion
Titrate medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs, manage PICC lines and ports, and participate in codes (cardiorespiratory, stroke, sepsis)
Respond to traumas and stabilize patients for transport to higher level of care when needed
Read and document telemetry strips independently using Mindray monitors
Float between Med Surg and ER to support unit needs
Collaborate with a small team of nurses and CNAs to deliver patient-centered care

Qualifications

Current and valid RN license in Minnesota
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Minimum 1-2 years of ER experience preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal staffing
Comfortable communicating directly with hospitalists and coordinating patient care

Knowledge & Skills

IV insertion and medication titration
PICC and port management
Code participation and response
Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
Experience with Meditech EMR
Understanding of EMTALA regulations and flight transport procedures
