Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate and progressive care for cardiac and vascular patients, including post-surgical CVICU step-downs
• Titrate and manage critical drips such as Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Nicardipine, Epinephrine, and Cardizem
• Interpret telemetry strips and collaborate with remote monitoring techs
• Work alongside hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiology teams to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Float to same or lower acuity units as needed, ensuring continuity of care
• Participate in an open-book skills exam during orientation to demonstrate competency

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC)
• At least 1 year of recent experience with cardiac or intermediate care patient population
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Valid driver's license required at submittal (to confirm distance from facility)
• Must pass a pass/fail open-book exam on unit-specific skills during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titration of cardiac and vasoactive medications
• Skilled in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula oxygen delivery
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to adapt to floating and varying patient acuity levels
