Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, titrate drips (e.g., Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure meds), and manage continuous EEG monitoring
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, including charge nurse and patient care techs
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support the team
• Maintain a positive attitude, strong communication, and critical thinking in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC preferred)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of start
• Valid driver's license to verify residency outside 50-mile radius
• Minimum of 1 year of recent PCU or stepdown experience preferred
• Ability to pass an open-book skills exam during orientation (90% pass rate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac monitoring, titration of drips, and stroke patient management
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills for a fast-paced unit
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to adapt to floating requirements across units
