Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level 4 NICU
• Manage complex cases including premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical neonates, and ECMO/cooling therapy patients
• Perform specialized procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes with strict sterile technique
• Collaborate with neonatologists, midlevels, and a multidisciplinary team in a 71-bed unit
• Serve as a charge nurse or high-risk RN resource when assigned, overseeing unit operations and patient assignments
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner EMR and monitor telemetry via Phillips system

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required (will consider busy Level 3 experience with approval)
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Must live 50+ miles from Phoenix (DL proof required)
• Willing to pass a pass/fail SIMs lab for Foley and central line dressing changes (sterile field competency essential)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in NICU nursing, including ventilator management (RT-managed) and high-risk neonatal care
• Proficient in Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry monitoring
• Knowledge of sterile technique, wound care, lifts, restraints
• Experience with charge nurse responsibilities and patient assignment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
