Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient
Location: Bakersfield, California
Start Date: 06-17-2026
End Date: 09-16-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM one day a week); weekend rotation every third weekend with Monday and Friday off
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for acute inpatients with various diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological, and general medical conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Cover multiple units including Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER as needed
- Document patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid California Physical Therapist license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Prior experience in acute inpatient physical therapy is required
- Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthopedic, neurological, and general medical conditions
- Skills in patient assessment and treatment planning
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Effective team collaboration
