Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend, every third holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to a diverse PCU patient population including cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes management
Titrate critical drips such as Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications
Monitor continuous EEG and telemetry, responding to changes with quick, confident action
Collaborate with charge nurses and techs to maintain safe 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratios
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support the team
Maintain a positive, proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required upon start)
Willingness to complete an open-book exam (90% pass rate) during orientation
Valid driver's license for radius verification
Ability to commit to a 13-week contract with minimal RTO
Prior PCU or stepdown experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in titrating cardiac and neurological drips
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable with continuous EEG monitoring and telemetry
Adaptable to floating between units and patient populations
