Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, ensuring a safe and comforting delivery experience
Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, assess progress of labor, and initiate appropriate interventions
Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other titratable drips as ordered
Educate and support new mothers with breastfeeding and postpartum recovery
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care in a Blue Distinction+ unit
Perform fetal monitoring and interpret strips to detect signs of distress

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS and NRP certifications required
Driver's license required at time of submittal
Ability to pass open-book exam on skills during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
Proficiency in titrating and managing drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for obstetric emergencies
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
Familiarity with LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit operations
