Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (with occasional early start at 6:00 AM for open heart case prep)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist in open heart surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and aneurysms
Prepare and maintain sterile field for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
Collaborate with surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Cross-train in general OR and float to floor as a 1:1 sitter as needed
Perform first scrub duties for complex cardiovascular cases

Qualifications

Must hold current BLS certification
CST or NCCT certification required
ND UAP (Unlicensed Assistive Personnel) certification
Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
Ability to first scrub for open heart cases
Willingness to cross-train and float to other departments

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in open heart procedures (CABG, valves)
Experience with thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids
Familiarity with ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5
Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
Strong communication and teamwork skills
