Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients
• Monitor hemodynamic status and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and update care plans
• Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment, including ventilators and monitoring devices
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Participate in shift handoffs and maintain accurate, timely charting

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• Minimum ICU clinical experience preferred; recent critical care exposure a plus
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize, and effective communication skills
• Ability to work independently during per diem shifts and collaborate with team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN or BSN accepted
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention skills
• Familiarity with ventilator management and titration of vasoactive drips
• Proficient in IV medication administration and infusion pump usage
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems for documentation
• Strong situational awareness, infection control, and patient safety practices
• Ability to remain calm in high-acuity situations and lead when needed
