Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care at the bedside for ICU patients, including post-CABG and complex cardiac cases
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and respond to changes rapidly
• Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator care safely and effectively
• Provide advanced life support including ACLS and CPR when needed
• Collaborate with intensivists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate complex care plans
• Document thoroughly in Meditech and maintain accurate bedside shift reports and whiteboard updates
• Support a positive patient experience by communicating clearly and compassionately
• Follow unit guidelines on floating, attendance and professional appearance while contributing to a respectful team culture

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Demonstrated experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Experience caring for post-CABG, CVICU, ECMO or heart transplant patients is strongly preferred
• Comfortable using Meditech documentation system preferred
• Ability to work rotating nights and weekends and float to other critical care areas as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU best practices
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Ventilator management and respiratory therapy collaboration
• Post-operative cardiac care including post-CABG management
• ECMO familiarity and care in high-acuity cardiac units
• Strong bedside assessment, prioritization and acute decision-making
• Proficient clinical documentation (Meditech preferred) and bedside shift reporting
