Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess and monitor complex patient conditions, interpreting hemodynamic data and ventilator settings
• Administer medications and titrate vasoactive drips safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate exceptional care
• Document patient care thoroughly and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Educate patients and families, offering clear guidance and emotional support during critical moments
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold infection prevention standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana (must be current)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required or obtained upon hire
• Critical care certification such as CCRN is a plus
• Experience working in an ICU or critical care setting (prior 12-hour shift experience preferred)
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ventilator management and respiratory support principles
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of central line and arterial line care and related procedures
• Medication administration expertise, including vasoactive and sedative agents
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Excellent patient- and family-centered communication and teamwork skills
