Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, ventilator settings, and lab results to guide care
• Administer medications and titrate infusions safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families about care plans and support them during difficult moments
• Document patient care thoroughly and ensure accurate handoffs between shifts
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and unit-based projects

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or ability to obtain licensure
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS required or obtained upon hire depending on facility policy
• Clinical experience in an ICU or critical care setting (ICU experience is a primary skill for this role)
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to work in fast-paced situations
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to rotating schedules as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for RN licensure; BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced cardiac life support and hemodynamic monitoring knowledge
• Mechanical ventilation basics and ventilator management experience
• Medication administration and infusion management
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and patient safety focus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
