Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor hemodynamic status
- Administer medications, manage infusions, and manage ventilated patients according to policy
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize care
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and participate in life-saving interventions
- Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery expectations
- Contribute to unit quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or a multistate compact license
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
- Ability to pass required facility onboarding and credentials
- Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and teamwork mindset
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of critical care principles and ICU equipment
- Skill in patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator basics
- Proficiency with medication administration and IV/infusion management
- Clear communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
