Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, monitoring status and intervening promptly
• Manage ventilators, titrate vasoactive medications, and perform advanced hemodynamic assessments as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered plans of care
• Perform thorough assessments, document changes in condition, and communicate critical information during handoffs
• Lead and mentor peers during high-acuity situations and help maintain a safe, efficient unit
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and follow evidence-based protocols to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
• Critical care experience in an adult ICU setting preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtain upon hire
• Strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and ability to prioritize in high-acuity environments
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with ventilator management and weaning protocols
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring, titration of vasoactive drips, and arterial/central line care
• Proficient with electronic health records and clear, timely documentation
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and the care team
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make timely, evidence-based decisions
