Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for adult ICU patients with compassionate, evidence-based nursing
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor complex physiologic trends
• Administer medications and manage advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other critical care equipment with confidence
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and recovery expectations
• Document care and patient responses clearly and promptly to support continuity
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (eligible to practice in Hawaii)
• Minimum recent clinical ICU experience preferred (critical care exposure required for per diem ICU role)
• Current BLS with ACLS strongly preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive drips
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a high-acuity team environment
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and any required competency assessments

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required for per diem opportunities

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and prioritization
• Advanced cardiac life support principles and arrhythmia recognition
• Ventilator management and respiratory support strategies
• Management of invasive lines and hemodynamic monitoring
• Medication titration and safe administration in ICU settings
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
