Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients
- Assess, monitor and document patient condition using sound clinical judgment
- Administer medications and manage complex IV/infusion therapies safely
- Operate and troubleshoot bedside critical care equipment, including ventilators and monitoring devices
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans
- Educate and support patients and families through critical illness and recovery
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license (ability to obtain state licensure as required)
- Critical care (ICU) experience and comfort with high-acuity patients
- Current BLS required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred
- Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of critical care nursing principles and ICU protocols
- Skilled in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Proficient with electronic health record documentation
- Medication administration safety and titration for critical care meds
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and act quickly in emergencies
