Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients
- Assess patient condition continuously and implement timely interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
- Administer medications, monitor infusions, and manage complex therapies
- Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment while ensuring patient safety
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and recovery
- Document care thoroughly and communicate handoffs clearly at shift changes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Hawaii licensure or eligibility preferred
- Minimum ICU experience (prior critical care experience highly desirable)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for high-acuity patients
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of critical care nursing principles and ICU protocols
- Familiarity with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips
- Proficient clinical documentation and effective communication skills
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and point-of-care tools
- Calm under pressure and skilled at rapid decision-making
