Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care with compassion and urgency
• Perform rapid triage and continuous patient assessments to prioritize care
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions safely
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to optimize outcomes
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient education accurately in the chart
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous emergency department or acute care experience preferred
• Comfortable working per diem schedules and adapting to fast-paced environments
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but not always required for per diem roles

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
• IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Accurate bedside documentation and charting
• Teamwork, effective communication, and rapid decision-making
