Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM (3x12), includes some weekends (day/night rotation)

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department, delivering compassionate, patient-centered treatment.
Rapidly and accurately triage patients, assessing physical and psychosocial needs to prioritize care and optimize patient flow.
Communicate patient status, changes, and diagnostic results with ER physicians and mid-level providers to ensure coordinated care.
Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient condition and to treatment responses.
Operate and monitor manual and electronic medical equipment and administer IV therapy as indicated.
Give direction to Emergency Department techs, registration staff, and allied health personnel while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely using basic computer systems and charting tools.

Qualifications

Current Montana RN license required.
Degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.

Bachelor of Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency Department nursing principles and procedures
Triage and rapid patient assessment
IV therapy and medication administration
Operation of manual and electronic medical equipment
Strong team communication and ability to give direction to support staff
Basic office and computer skills for documentation and order entry
