Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the Emergency Department
- Stabilize and provide evidence-based emergency care for a wide range of acute conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient status, interventions and dispositions clearly and promptly
- Prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient safety
- Educate patients and families on care plans, follow-up and discharge instructions
- Contribute to quality improvement and adherence to clinical protocols
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, acute care setting
- Strong assessment, triage and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to engage with the Cottage Hospital ED team and support departmental goals
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of emergency nursing principles and rapid patient assessment
- Ability to manage acute and unstable patients with confidence
- Proficient documentation and clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations
- Team-oriented approach and effective communication with colleagues
- Familiarity with common ED equipment and workflows
