Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality triage and direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate efficient care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Contribute to unit safety and quality improvement initiatives every shift
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate handoffs clearly at shift change

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Hawaii (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Emergency Department experience preferred; recent ED exposure a strong plus
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable performing emergency interventions, IV therapy, and triage
• Strong critical thinking, calm under pressure, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour per diem shifts and adapt to variable scheduling

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of emergency nursing assessment and prioritization
• Skill with IV starts, medication administration, and basic airway management
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, triage protocols, and rapid documentation
• Able to collaborate across disciplines and escalate concerns appropriately
• Culturally sensitive care and ability to serve diverse patient populations
