Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately in the emergency department
• Provide evidence-based nursing care including medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the care team to develop and execute patient plans
• Monitor and document patient status, using EMR systems to keep records clear and current
• Act decisively in urgent situations, prioritizing patient safety and effective intervention
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care with empathy and clarity
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by participating in quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license (ability to obtain or hold New Hampshire RN license is required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Prior emergency department experience preferred; confident in fast-paced, high-acuity settings
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize under pressure
• Reliable professional references and a commitment to patient-centered care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid patient assessment in an ED environment
• IV insertion, medication administration, and common ED procedures
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Clear, calm communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work efficiently in unpredictable, high-acuity situations while maintaining compassion
