Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and assess patients presenting to the emergency department quickly and accurately
- Deliver high-quality nursing care including medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient-focused plans
- Respond to emergencies and stabilize critically ill or injured patients with confidence
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
- Provide compassionate education and support to patients and their families during stressful situations
- Maintain ED equipment readiness and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NH license or appropriate state licensure; compact license accepted if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable upon hire
- Previous ED/ER nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 12.5-hour emergency department shifts and handle high-acuity situations
- Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and effective communication
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency triage and rapid assessment skills
- IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedural support
- Knowledge of common ED protocols and emergency interventions
- Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation best practices
- Calm under pressure, teamwork, and patient-centered communication
