Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency setting
- Stabilize and manage acute conditions using evidence-based interventions
- Coordinate care with physicians, techs, and other team members to ensure smooth transitions
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and document thoroughly and promptly
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current RN license (ability to practice in New Hampshire required or eligible)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
- Comfort working in a fast-paced ED/ER environment and managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; compassionate patient-centered care
- Previous ED/ER experience preferred but motivated new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- BSN preferred but open to qualified ADN candidates
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in emergency situations
- Familiarity with emergency nursing workflows and documentation
- Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and urgent interventions
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
- Good electronic health record (EHR) usage and accurate charting
