Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients rapidly and accurately to prioritize care
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing interventions in the ED/ER
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, techs, and support staff—to coordinate patient care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses clearly in the medical record
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during stressful situations
• Respond to emergencies and rapidly changing clinical situations with calm and competence

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (New Hampshire RN licensure or compact RN status preferred)
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or willing to obtain
• Clinical experience or strong interest in emergency/ED/ER nursing
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and prioritize competing demands
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage assessment and emergency nursing practices
• IV starts, medication administration, and urgent clinical procedures
• Familiarity with ED workflows and rapid patient turnover
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage multiple critical tasks while maintaining patient safety
