Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and stabilize patients presenting to the emergency department with confidence and compassion
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED care team to implement rapid treatment plans
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document care accurately and timely
• Perform rapid assessments and interventions for acute medical and traumatic conditions
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare to support safe transitions
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to enhance outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license (eligible to practice in Hawaii)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Prior emergency department nursing experience or demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced acute care
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency triage, rapid assessment, and acute care interventions
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitoring devices
• Ability to document thoroughly in electronic medical records
• Comfortable performing under pressure and adapting to changing patient acuity
• Culturally sensitive care for diverse patient populations
