Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately to prioritize care in a busy ED
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for acute and emergent conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting interventions clearly
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow
• Advocate for patients and families, providing education and compassionate support
• Respond to emergencies and code situations with confidence and composure
• Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement through thoughtful communication

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Hawaii RN or eligible for Hawaii licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Comfort and experience working in an Emergency Department/ER environment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and acute care nursing skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure situations
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to varying ED patient volumes

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• Acute care nursing interventions and medication administration
• IV insertion and management, wound care, and basic procedures
• Prioritization and time management in a fast-paced setting
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Ability to document accurately and use electronic medical records
