Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative and postoperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgery patients
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic and cardiac telemetry data to guide clinical decisions
• Administer medications and manage complex infusion therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on post-op recovery, wound care, and discharge planning
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to the care team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida license or compact RN accepted)
• Minimum ~2 years of nursing experience, with cardiovascular surgery or cardiac care experience preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Experience with post-op cardiac care, telemetry monitoring, and hemodynamic assessment
• Ability to complete facility onboarding, background check, and health screenings

Education

• Active RN license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
• Familiarity with post-operative cardiovascular protocols and hemodynamic management
• IV/central line and chest tube management experience
• Skilled in sterile technique, surgical site care, and pain management
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced surgical environments
• Proficient documentation practices in electronic medical records
