Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for adults and adolescents in a behavioral health setting
• Perform thorough psychiatric and medical assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Administer medications safely and document according to protocol
• Lead de-escalation and crisis-intervention efforts with calm, evidence-based approaches
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, coping strategies, and community resources
• Accurately document interventions and communicate handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Experience or interest in behavioral health nursing (BHS) preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to manage behavioral health crises and use therapeutic communication
• Successful completion of required orientation prior to independent shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong psychiatric nursing assessment and observation skills
• Medication administration and monitoring in mental health settings
• Crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented behavioral health environment
