Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams with attention to patient comfort and safety
• Operate imaging equipment and adjust technical factors to capture optimal images
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure accurate imaging and timely results
• Prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring documentation is complete and compliant
• Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized imaging environment
• Assist with patient positioning, education, and answering questions to reduce anxiety
• Troubleshoot basic imaging equipment issues and escalate technical problems when needed

Qualifications

• State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (or eligible) — Louisiana licensure required or can obtain
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable performing a variety of general radiography procedures; prior Rad Tech experience is a plus
• Strong patient communication skills and a commitment to compassionate care
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent accredited program
• Completion of an ARRT-eligible radiography program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of radiographic techniques, positioning, and imaging principles
• Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems
• Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control practices
• Good technical aptitude for imaging equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient care and teamwork
