Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations with attention to image quality and patient safety
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment following established protocols
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic health record
• Ensure radiation safety and adhere to ALARA principles for patients and staff
• Collaborate with technologists, radiologists and nursing staff to optimize patient care
• Prepare and maintain imaging rooms and equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and clear communication to patients and families

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiography or registry-eligible candidates considered
• Active State of Louisiana radiologic technologist license (or ability to obtain)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable operating general radiography equipment and working with PACS
• Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a busy department
• Previous clinical experience in radiography preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
• ARRT certification preferred or required per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of radiographic positioning and exposure factors
• Familiarity with PACS and basic imaging informatics
• Knowledge of radiation safety standards and infection control practices
• Ability to perform patient assessments and adapt techniques for diverse patient needs
• Good time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
