Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams with patient comfort and safety in mind
• Position patients and operate X-ray equipment to capture clear, diagnostic images
• Ensure images meet quality standards and coordinate with radiologists when needed
• Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate imaging logs
• Assist in patient identification, prepare patients for procedures, and provide clear instructions
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, report malfunctions, and help troubleshoot basic issues
• Document procedures and update electronic medical records accurately and timely
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to support efficient patient flow

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification or equivalent radiologic technologist credential preferred
• Active Louisiana radiologic technologist license or eligibility to obtain
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment and providing compassionate care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team
• Prior hospital or acute care imaging experience is a plus

Education

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiography certificate, or equivalent
• ARRT certification (preferred) and state licensure as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of anatomy and patient positioning for diagnostic imaging
• Proficiency with digital imaging systems and PACS workflow
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and infection control
• Attention to detail for image quality and accurate recordkeeping
• Good interpersonal skills to comfort patients and coordinate with clinical staff
• Basic troubleshooting skills for imaging equipment and accessories
