Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate radiographic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images with care and accuracy
- Position patients safely and comfortably while explaining procedures to reduce anxiety
- Adhere to radiation safety principles and facility protocols to protect patients and staff
- Review images for clarity and escalate any concerns to radiologists in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and positive outcomes
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid radiologic technologist license as required by Louisiana (state licensure)
- ARRT certification or equivalent preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and various ages
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and infection control
- Previous radiology experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply and learn
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiography certificate, or equivalent accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with radiographic techniques and patient positioning
- Familiarity with PACS and digital imaging workflows
- Understanding of radiation safety practices and ALARA principles
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
