Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic exams with precision and care
- Position patients and operate imaging equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure patient safety and radiation protection practices are followed at all times
- Produce high-quality images and verify image accuracy for timely diagnosis
- Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation in the record system
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the care team to support patient flow
- Participate in basic equipment quality control and report issues promptly
- Provide compassionate patient education and reassurance throughout the imaging process
Qualifications
- ARRT certification (or ARRT-eligible) preferred
- State radiologic technologist license (Louisiana) required or eligible
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtain upon hire
- Clinical experience in hospital or outpatient radiology settings preferred
- Strong patient care, communication, and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited radiography program
- ARRT certification strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of radiographic positioning and cross-sectional anatomy
- Familiarity with PACS and radiology information systems (RIS)
- Understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Ability to follow protocols and produce consistent, diagnostic images
- Good interpersonal skills for working with patients of all ages and clinical teams
