Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct Compensation and Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with care and professionalism
• Perform interview-based examinations and focused physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Complete clear, timely medical documentation and submit exam reports and any required addendums
• Follow VES protocols for non-treatment exams; no prescribing or ongoing treatment is provided
• Coordinate with VES for credentialing, onboarding, and required training completion
• Deliver objective, Veteran-centered evaluations that support benefits decisions

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted physician license (state licensure required for the location of practice)
• MD or DO or equivalent medical degree (physician-level clinician)
• Clinical background in general medicine; specialties welcome include family medicine, internal medicine, and orthopedic surgery
• Experience or comfort performing interview-based assessments and focused musculoskeletal testing (range of motion, muscle strength)
• PRN/per diem availability and ability to work within a 50-mile radius of assigned city or see patients in your own office
• Willingness to complete required VES training and onboarding prior to first assignment

Education

• MD or DO (or equivalent medical degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam structure and documentation expectations
• Strong medical reporting and documentation skills
• Proficient in interview-based examinations and focused physical assessment techniques
• Ability to produce clear medical opinions and addendums when required
• Good communication skills for interacting with Veterans and administrative teams
• Attention to detail and timely completion of reports
