Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments accurately and compassionately
• Perform interview-based clinical assessments and focused physical exams (range of motion, muscle strength testing)
• Prepare timely, clear, and compliant exam reports and addendums
• Adhere to the non-treatment scope — these are one-time, non-treatment exams (no prescribing, no ongoing care)
• Complete required training and credentialing promptly to remain available for scheduling
• Coordinate with scheduling and administrative staff to meet veteran needs within the assigned coverage area

Qualifications

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license
• Board certification or clinical experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or General Medicine
• Clinical experience with C&P exams or separation health assessments preferred
• Comfort performing interview-based exams and basic physical testing (ROM, muscle strength)
• Able to work within a 50-mile radius of the listed city or operate from your own office within that radius
• Willingness to complete required portal training and any client onboarding (note: DMA/portal training is not reimbursed by the client)

Education

• MD or DO (or equivalent medical degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam processes and documentation
• Skilled in interview techniques and focused physical assessments (ROM, strength testing)
• Accurate, concise medical report writing and addendum preparation
• Comfort navigating clinical portals and completing electronic documentation
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and veteran-centered communication
