Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments with professionalism and compassion
• Perform structured clinical interviews and focused physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
• Complete timely, clear, and thorough exam reports and required addendums/medical opinions
• Collaborate with administrative teams to complete onboarding and credentialing requirements quickly
• Maintain accurate documentation and review diagnostic information as needed
• Respect the non-treatment nature of these exams — assess and document rather than prescribe or treat

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted state medical license for practice in the assignment location(s)
• Board certification or equivalent experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine
• Experience with Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams or related evaluations is strongly preferred
• Comfort performing clinical interviews, physical assessments, and range-of-motion testing
• Reliable access to a provider office (when required) or ability to work within a 50-mile radius of assignment locations
• Ability to complete required training and onboarding prior to performing exams

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of residency training in an appropriate specialty

Knowledge & Skills

• Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam process and requirements
• Separation health assessments and non-treatment evaluations
• Clinical interviewing techniques and focused physical exam skills
• Range of motion testing and muscle strength assessment
• Clear medical report writing and documentation (including addendums and medical opinions)
• Reading and interpreting basic diagnostic information relevant to exams
