Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physical therapist in delivering individualized patient care and therapy
• Implement treatment plans, lead therapeutic exercises and support mobility and gait training
• Document patient progress and treatment details clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families on home exercises, safety and functional independence
• Operate therapy equipment and modalities safely to support patient outcomes
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized treatment area and follow infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant license in California (required)
• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• BLS or CPR certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to lift, assist, and safely transfer patients as required by the position
• Valid identification and ability to complete required employment health screenings

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• California PTA licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of therapeutic exercise, functional mobility and basic modalities
• Proficiency with documentation and charting in electronic medical records
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and safe patient handling techniques
• Comfort working with adult and geriatric populations in an outpatient setting
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and work well in a fast-paced clinic
