Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough diagnostic evaluations and design individualized treatment plans that help patients reach their highest level of independence
• Deliver therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, range of motion, fine motor coordination and daily living skills
• Perform home assessments and recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to support safe community living
• Fabricate and recommend splints and train patients and families in their use
• Implement sensorimotor and visual perceptual-motor remediation techniques for neurological and developmental needs
• Administer prevocational programs to prepare patients for return-to-work or new vocational opportunities
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation and patient records in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with schools, nursing homes, visiting nurse associations and other community partners to coordinate care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Current valid Washington state Occupational Therapist license required (or actively in process of obtaining)
• One year of OT experience preferred; new graduates welcome — enthusiasm and solid training count
• Ability to complete mandatory education and maintain regulatory requirements on schedule
• Professional presentation and adherence to departmental dress and identification policies
• Reliable communication skills, including checking and responding to work email at least once per shift

Education

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation, treatment planning and therapeutic exercise techniques
• Experience with splinting, adaptive equipment, and home modification recommendations
• Knowledge of sensorimotor integration and visual perceptual-motor remediation
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
• Comfort instructing patients and families in energy conservation, joint protection and safe transfer techniques
• Good problem solving, communication and team collaboration abilities
