Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations and write timely, accurate patient assessments in accordance with department standards
• Design and deliver individualized treatment programs using therapeutic exercises to improve strength, range of motion, and fine motor coordination
• Train patients in activities of daily living (ADLs), adaptive techniques, and use of adaptive equipment for home management and self-care
• Provide specialized treatments including sensorimotor integration, visual perceptual-motor remediation, and prosthetic device training
• Perform home assessments and consult on environmental design and adaptive equipment to maximize community independence
• Administer splinting, prevocational programming, and targeted therapies for orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, and balance disorders
• Document care and maintain patient records promptly and in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, local schools, nursing homes, and community agencies to support patient transitions and outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Current valid Washington State Occupational Therapist license required (or in process of obtaining)
• One year of related experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply
• Ability to maintain regulatory and facility requirements, attend mandatory education, and participate in department QI activities
• Professional communication skills and ability to work with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in patient evaluations and treatment planning
• Proficient with therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and splinting techniques
• Skilled in sensorimotor integration and visual perceptual-motor remediation
• Experience with prosthetic device training, home assessments, and prevocational programming
• Strong documentation practices and HIPAA-compliant record keeping
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, plus clear written and verbal communication
