Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and prepare them for provider visits
• Assist providers during exams and minor procedures in the ambulatory setting
• Accurately document patient encounters and update the electronic health record
• Perform point-of-care testing and basic clinical tasks such as injections or phlebotomy as trained
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked exam room and ensure infection control standards
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team to support excellent patient experiences
• Support clinic workflow by scheduling follow-ups, authorizations, and coordinating care

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or equivalent training preferred (CMA, RMA or state-recognized credential)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable performing vital signs, basic clinical procedures, and point-of-care testing
• Strong communication and customer service skills in a patient-facing role
• Ability to complete orientation and attend scheduled shifts
• Previous ambulatory/clinic experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant program certificate or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and basic clinical procedures
• Patient triage and rooming workflows in ambulatory care
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinic environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and patient education ability
