Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate mammography equipment and perform high-quality diagnostic mammographic exams following department and radiologist protocols
• Ensure radiation safety and ALARA practices at all times to protect patients and staff
• Provide clear patient education, obtain informed consent, and verify patient identity prior to exams
• Complete daily quality assurance tasks, preventative maintenance scheduling, and troubleshooting of equipment issues
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation, charge capture, and records required for accreditation and inspections
• Support quality improvement initiatives, structured reporting, audit tracking, and workflow resolution
• Assist with clerical tasks, phone reception, patient transport, and cross-train in other imaging modalities as needed
• Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory to support uninterrupted patient care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful completion of background check and pre-employment drug screen (and breath alcohol test if applicable)
• Preferred: Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, with experience in CT and MRI
• Preferred cross-training in CT, MRI, and DEXA; experience with PACS and RIS/HIS

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

• Mammography techniques and imaging protocols
• Patient education and compassionate patient care
• Regulatory compliance and accreditation record keeping
• Quality assurance and structured reporting
• Radiation safety principles (ALARA) and safe equipment operation
• EHR documentation and charge capture
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS/HIS, and electronic records workflows
• Troubleshooting basic equipment issues and coordinating service when needed
