Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to nursing staff
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall-prevention measures
• Support mealtime, hygiene, and comfort needs while promoting resident dignity
• Document care delivered accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
• Participate in infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in the state of Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Comfort working night shifts and handling the physical demands of caregiving
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach with older adults
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered care
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Infection control, hand hygiene, and standard precautions
• Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Compassion, patience, and strong observational skills
