Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor laboring mothers and neonates, responding to changes in condition promptly
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and providers
• Provide patient and family education, including breastfeeding support and infant care instruction
• Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Assist physicians with procedures and collaborate closely with the nursery team for mother/baby couplet care
• Stabilize patients in emergency situations and initiate appropriate interventions per protocol
• Support onboarding and skill-building for fellow FBC staff and assist other units during emergencies
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and uphold unit standards for patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado (required)
• Minimum Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
• 2+ years of LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required); PALS and NRP preferred
• Comfortable with electronic documentation / EHR systems and accurate charting
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical aspects of patient care

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, care planning, and continuous monitoring during labor and postpartum
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with EHR workflows
• Neonate care knowledge including breastfeeding education and nursery collaboration
• Emergency response and stabilization skills for maternal and neonatal events
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with providers and nursing staff
• Patient education and counseling to promote maternal and newborn wellness
