Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services (EVS), and Grounds teams to ensure safe, reliable facility operations
• Direct and indirectly supervise approximately 45 FTEs across maintenance, plant operations and EVS
• Set clear job-specific customer service expectations and design training plans to meet them
• Ensure continuous operation of utility systems (heat, steam, power, gas, oxygen) required for patient care
• Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs and inspect equipment to meet operational standards
• Ensure contractor compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies during projects
• Act as liaison to other departments to assess needs and build actionable plans
• Maintain compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and applicable local building and fire codes
• Plan and oversee construction phasing and facility improvements with minimal disruption

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Proven knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes and environmental services operations
• Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to detect and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area

Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field
