Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, helping with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote resident independence
- Take and record vital signs and communicate changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support medication routines and mealtime assistance as directed by the care team
- Maintain clean, safe patient environments and follow infection control protocols
- Document care accurately and clearly so the team stays informed and residents get consistent support
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — Pennsylvania certification or eligibility preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required health screenings
- Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented with good communication skills
- Comfortable with physical aspects of the role, including lifting and assisting residents
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an approved CNA training program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong basic nursing care skills and knowledge of ADLs
- Vital signs monitoring and resident observation
- Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Clear documentation and charting practices
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Basic familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) a plus
