Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team
- Document care activities in the facility record system in a timely manner
- Support recreational and social activities to promote resident well-being
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (must be valid for Pennsylvania)
- Minimum ability to perform required 12-hour shift duties and reliable attendance
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background check, and health screenings
- Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient-centered care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completed CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Comfort with basic electronic charting or willingness to learn
- Ability to follow care plans and direction from licensed nurses
