Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility while promoting dignity
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Maintain clear, timely documentation to support continuity of care
- Follow infection control practices and facility safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Support a calm, respectful environment for residents, families and coworkers
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Certification valid for practice in Pennsylvania (state credential)
- Ability to pass background check and any facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar is a plus
- CPR/BLS certification preferred (if not held, facility may provide guidance)
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Infection control and safe patient handling
- Teamwork, time management and attention to detail
- Respectful communication with residents, families and staff
- Familiarity with HIPAA and resident privacy concepts
