Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Perform patient hygiene, toileting, dressing, and mobility assistance safely and respectfully
- Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Help with meal assistance and documenting intake as directed
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Contribute to a warm, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence
Qualifications
- Current, active CNA certification (state-approved) — required
- Comfortable providing direct patient care and working as part of a care team
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care
- Previous long-term care or nursing home experience is a strong plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a state-approved CNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and infection control practices
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with residents, families, and staff
- Basic charting and documentation skills, following facility protocols
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
